WE HAVE SOLUTION OF PTOSIS PROBLEM.
Some patients with ptosis also have excess skin and fat in the upper lid, which can be corrected at the time of ptosis repair. Ptosis repair is usually performed by an ophthalmologist who specializes in eyelid surgery.
Having surgery for a squint
If other treatments are unsuccessful, surgery may be needed to correct a squint.
Surgery can be used to:
improve the alignment of the eyes (and therefore their appearance)
help the eyes work together
Surgery involves moving the muscles attached to the outside of the eye to a new position. It may be necessary to operate on both eyes to balance them, even if the squint is only in one eye.
The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic and usually takes less than an hour to perform. It's often carried out as a day case, so your child can go home the same day.
You may be able to accompany your child to the operating theatre and stay with them until they've been given the anaesthetic. A nurse will be with your child throughout the procedure.
During the operation, your child's eye will be kept open using an instrument called a lid speculum. The ophthalmologist (eyecare specialist) will detach one part of the muscle connected to your child's eye and will either move it backwards to weaken the pulling effect, or shorten it to increase the pulling effect. Once the correction has been made, the muscles will be sewn back into place using dissolvable stitches.
"Glaucoma results from damage to the optic nerve. Usually the damage is from increased pressure in the eye. The damage to the eye is irreversible and glaucoma can lead to blindness. The most common form, open-angle glaucoma, generally appears in middle age and seems to have a genetic component. In this type of glaucoma, vision loss occurs very gradually. One eye is often worse than the other. Other types of glaucoma are closed-angle glaucoma (a medical emergency) and congenital glaucoma (present at birth). Secondary glaucoma is usually associated with another eye disease or disorder, such as a very mature cataract, uveitis, bleeding, eye tumor, or an eye injury.
Cataract is the clouding of the natural crystalline lens and typically occurs because of ageing, although other reasons may be prolonged use of steroids, exposure to ultra violet and associated health problems like diabetes and eye injuries.
Surgery is the only known effective treatment for cataract removal. All cataract surgeries are aimed at removal of the cloudy natural lens and replacing it with an Intra Ocular Lens(IOL). At Foresight Eye Clinic Phacoemulsification is performed (No stitch surgery) and a foldable IOL is inserted. There are multiple IOL choices available for the surgery which is explained below. These lenses can be inserted through a small 1.8 to 2.8 mm opening
Common Eye Problems
Amblyopia ("lazy eye") is poor vision in an eye that may appear to be normal. ...
Strabismus is a misalignment of the eyes; they may turn in, out, up, or down. ...
Refractive errors mean that the shape of the eye doesn't refract (bend) light properly, so images appear blurred.
Allergic Eye Disease is either seasonally (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis) or all year round (perennial allergic conjunctivitis) and cause itching, burning, watering and redness of the eye, and puffiness of the eyelids. The best strategy is prevention with help of mast cell stabilizers and avoiding allergans or using air purifiers. In acute stage topical soft steroids are added for relief along with lubricants. Long standing allergy can impact vision, so AED should be treated and never taken lightly
Open-angle is the most common kind of glaucoma. It occurs slowly as people age. The drainage area in the eye becomes clogged. Not enough fluid drains from the eye, so pressure slowly builds up. This causes gradual loss of side (peripheral) vision. You may not even notice changes until much of your vision is lost.
